Al joined Morgenthaler in 2004. He oversees all aspects of Morgenthaler’s private equity activities including existing portfolio companies, new investments, strategy formulation and franchise development.
Prior to joining the firm, he was a Corporate Officer of The General Electric Company, most recently as President and CEO of GE Insurance Solutions’ Global Life and Health Reinsurance Division ($4B unit of GE Capital). During his nine year career at GE, he held additional executive positions in general management, including the EVP and Chief Operations Officer of Employers Reinsurance Corp. ($12B unit of GE Capital); Chairman and CEO - GE International Mexico; General Manager Six Sigma - GE Lighting; General Manager Distribution and Customer Service - GE Lighting; and Manager Corporate Business Development - GE Corporate. Prior to joining General Electric, Al focused on operations management and strategy development in the consulting industry with Symmetrix, as well as line operation positions in the automotive industry (Woodbridge Foam Corp) and oil & gas industry (British Petroleum).
