Partner & Chief Operating Officer
Scott joined Morgenthaler in their Menlo Park office as a Partner and Chief Operating Officer in 2012. Scott is responsible for all operational and financial activities. Prior to joining Morgenthaler, Scott spent eight years with Palomar Ventures serving as Partner and Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for all financial, legal, investor relations and operational matters. While at Palomar, Scott also served as a Director or an Observer to the boards on selected investments, including ExteNet Systems, Paymetric, Continuous Computing (sold to RadiSys Corporation in 2011) and CoreObjects Software (sold to Symphony Services Corporation in 2010).
Prior to Palomar, Scott spent five years as the Chief Financial Officer at DynaFund Ventures. In addition to directing DynaFund’s entire financial affairs, Scott worked closely with the investment team to determine the appropriate strategy and vision to support all investment decisions, including pre-investment due diligence, term sheet preparation/review, alternative deal structures and post-investment portfolio company monitoring. He was also directly involved with the firm’s fundraising efforts and limited partner communications. Prior to DynaFund, Scott enjoyed several years at DreamWorks SKG and The Walt Disney Company, where he held senior management positions in finance, planning and operations. Scott began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also an active member of PECFOA, VCBC and the NVCA’s CFO Task Force, and has presented at numerous conferences on the topics of management and administration of venture capital funds.
